You send an OANDA complaint to the Financial Conduct Authority because the UK regulator is familiar. The reply says the account is not held by the UK company. Meanwhile, the deadline for the body that may actually consider your dispute keeps running.
This is the trap behind a global broker brand. OANDA uses different legal entities in the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Japan and selected other markets. Each company has its own internal process. The next external route can also change.
Short answer: start with the full company name in your customer agreement. Complete that company’s internal complaint process, keep its acknowledgement and final response, then check the external body named in the current policy. Do not choose a regulator from the OANDA logo or homepage alone.
We checked the official sources in this guide on 5 September 2026. The routes below are a research map, not legal advice. Eligibility can depend on the complainant, product, country, date and the wording of the agreement.
Three complaint channels do three different jobs
The distinction matters most when money is in dispute. A customer may want a withdrawal released or a trade loss corrected. A regulator may instead be deciding whether the firm breached a rule and whether supervisory action is needed. Those questions can overlap, but they are not identical.
If you have not confirmed your company yet, use our dated OANDA legal-entity map first. Then compare the name with the one printed in your own agreement.
OANDA complaint routes by legal entity
| Company in the agreement | Internal route stated by OANDA | External route named in official material | Timing or limitation to notice |
|---|---|---|---|
| OANDA Corporation United States | Customer service, then complaintsus@oanda.com | NFA and/or CFTC | The policy names regulatory bodies, not an ombudsman. Check what outcome each process can provide. |
| OANDA Europe Limited United Kingdom | Customer service, then disputes@oanda.com | Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) | OANDA states a written response within eight weeks and a six-month FOS referral period after the final response. |
| OANDA TMS Brokers S.A. European Union route | OANDA’s EU complaint form and other methods listed in its procedure | Appeal, Polish Financial Ombudsman for individuals, KNF arbitration or mediation, and court | OANDA states 30 days in general and up to 60 days for a complex complaint. |
| OANDA (Canada) Corporation ULC Canada | ocancomplaints@oanda.com | OBSI, CIRO arbitration or regulatory complaint, court; AMF review for Quebec residents | OBSI referral is stated as 180 days from OANDA’s final response. Quebec has a separate response timetable. |
| OANDA Australia Pty Ltd Australia | idr@oanda.com | Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) | OANDA states acknowledgement within one business day and aims to resolve the complaint within 30 days. |
| OANDA Asia Pacific Pte Ltd Singapore | Customer service through the current digital channels or phone | Financial Industry Disputes Resolution Centre (FIDReC) | The February 2026 policy states a response within 48 hours and final handling within 28 business days. |
| OANDA Japan Inc. Japan | Customer Service Center, inquiry form or post | FINMAC for OTC FX and stock-index CFD matters; a separate Commodity Futures Association route for commodity CFDs | The product type changes the external body. |
| OANDA Global Markets Limited Selected countries, BVI entity | Customer care, then ogmdisputes@oanda.com for further escalation | The policy refers to BVI Financial Services Commission oversight but does not name a FOS-style ombudsman | The published policy is dated January 2023. Confirm current options before relying on it. |
On a phone, swipe the table left. Treat it as a route selector, not as proof that an external body will accept the case. The official body’s eligibility test and the latest final-response letter control the next step.
United States: NFA and CFTC are regulatory routes
OANDA Corporation’s complaints policy tells customers to begin with normal customer service. If the issue is not resolved, the document gives complaintsus@oanda.com for a formal complaint. It then names the National Futures Association (NFA) and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) as possible referral routes.
The NFA provides a customer complaint form. The CFTC accepts tips, complaints and referrals involving forex and other derivatives. These channels can be relevant to suspected rule breaches, fraud or misconduct. Before filing, read what the selected process can do. A regulatory report should not be described as a guaranteed way to recover an individual loss. Our NFA BASIC walkthrough shows how to confirm the exact firm and registration record first.
United Kingdom: the final response starts an important clock
OANDA Europe Limited’s policy asks customers to try customer service first. If the issue remains unresolved, the formal route is the Compliance Department at disputes@oanda.com. The policy says OANDA will provide a full written response within eight weeks.
An eligible complainant may then refer the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service. OANDA’s policy and the ombudsman’s current guidance both point to a six-month period after the firm’s final response. Reopening the same argument with customer service should not be assumed to restart that clock. Before using the UK route, confirm OANDA Europe Limited on the FCA Register.
European Union: the public route now points to OANDA TMS
For the current EU route, OANDA’s complaint page is written for OANDA TMS Brokers S.A. in Poland. It provides separate complaint forms for Polish and other EU clients and asks for details such as the client number, order or transaction number, withdrawal date and amount, description of the problem, requested outcome and preferred response method.
OANDA states that it generally responds within 30 days. For a particularly complex case, the stated maximum is 60 days, with an explanation and an expected date. If the claim is denied, the procedure describes an appeal and says an individual customer can request review by the Polish Financial Ombudsman. It also mentions mediation or arbitration, including the Arbitration Court at the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.
Do not send a new EU complaint under the old Malta company simply because an older review page still names it. Our OANDA entity research found that the current public EU route points to OANDA TMS. An existing customer should still use the company in the latest agreement, especially if the account predates the change.

Canada: compensation, regulation and Quebec review split into separate paths
OANDA Canada’s current complaint page directs service and security-related complaints to ocancomplaints@oanda.com. It says an acknowledgement will be sent within five business days. For clients outside Quebec, the process may take up to 90 days. Quebec residents are given a 60-day final-response target, extendable to 90 days in exceptional circumstances.
The next choice depends on the job. The Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments (OBSI) provides an independent assessment for eligible disputes and must be approached within 180 days of OANDA’s final response. A CIRO regulatory complaint asks CIRO to assess whether disciplinary action is warranted. CIRO also describes arbitration and civil action as separate options. Quebec residents may request an Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) review through the transfer process described in OANDA’s final response.
CIRO warns that using a firm’s optional internal appeal does not stop the 180-day OBSI period. Keep the date of the first substantive written response visible in your case file.
Australia and Singapore provide independent dispute routes
OANDA Australia accepts complaints by phone, post or idr@oanda.com. Its current dispute-resolution page says it will acknowledge a complaint within one business day and aims to resolve it within 30 days. If the result is unsatisfactory, the page names the Australian Financial Complaints Authority. AFCA tells consumers to contact the financial firm first and describes its service as free, fair and independent.
OANDA Asia Pacific’s complaint policy is dated February 2026. It directs customers to current support channels, including frontdesk@oanda.com, and asks for the account number, transaction details, circumstances and requested resolution. The policy says customers receive a written response within 48 hours and that the complaint will be handled within 28 business days at the latest, subject to an explanation if more time is needed.
If OANDA has not addressed the concern, the policy names FIDReC. FIDReC says the financial institution must have had the first chance to resolve the matter. Its current FAQ also describes a six-month period from the institution’s final reply for an eligible complaint. Check FIDReC’s current jurisdiction before filing.
Japan: the product can change the dispute body
OANDA Japan’s English derivative manual gives the Customer Service Center, inquiry form and postal address as complaint channels. For over-the-counter foreign-exchange margin trading and stock-index CFDs, the manual names the Financial Instruments Mediation Assistance Center (FINMAC).
For over-the-counter commodity CFDs, the same manual lists the Commodity Futures Association of Japan’s Consulting Center. This is a useful reminder that the right route can depend on the disputed product even after the company has been identified.
BVI: the published policy emphasises internal escalation
OANDA Global Markets Limited’s public complaint policy is dated January 2023. It asks the customer to submit a detailed complaint with the relevant documents and correspondence. The policy says OANDA aims to acknowledge a written complaint within one business day and provide an initial final response within three business days, or explain why more time is needed.
If the response remains unsatisfactory, the policy gives ogmdisputes@oanda.com for escalation to the compliance officer and, where appropriate, the board. It aims to provide a further response within 25 calendar days.
The document refers to BVI Financial Services Commission guidance and oversight, but it does not name an independent ombudsman comparable with FOS, AFCA or FIDReC. That absence should not be turned into a claim that no other remedy exists. It means the customer must confirm current FSC complaint options, contractual jurisdiction and independent legal routes rather than assuming another OANDA region’s ombudsman applies. The practical difference is explained in our regulated and offshore account guide.
Build the evidence packet before you press send
A complaint file another reviewer can follow
- The customer agreement and the full legal company name
- Your account ID, with unnecessary personal information redacted where appropriate
- Order, trade, deposit or withdrawal reference numbers
- A dated timeline with the time zone and platform used
- Statements, platform logs and screenshots that retain their surrounding context
- Copies of support messages, acknowledgements and the final response
- A clear calculation of the disputed amount, if money is claimed
- The specific outcome you are asking OANDA to consider
A screenshot of one price is rarely enough to explain an execution dispute. Record the instrument, order type, ticket number, timestamp, time zone, requested price, executed price and the relevant platform history. For a withdrawal issue, preserve the request date, amount, payment route, beneficiary details shown in the secure account area and every later status message.
Do not email passwords, full card numbers or other unnecessary credentials. OANDA Canada and Singapore explicitly warn that ordinary email is not a secure channel for sensitive financial information.
Start with a route, then verify it
The free FXPEDIA360 Complaint Route Finder can turn a broker name and country into a practical starting route. Use it to organise the first check, then confirm the result against your agreement, OANDA’s current policy and the external body’s own eligibility page.
Check the complaint routeFive checks before external escalation
- Copy the company name from the agreement. Do not shorten it to OANDA.
- Use the matching regional complaint policy. Check its date, contact method and required evidence.
- Label the complaint as formal. State what happened, when it happened, why you disagree and what outcome you seek.
- Record the response clock. Save the acknowledgement, final response and any notice explaining a delay.
- Choose the external body by function. Confirm whether you need individual dispute resolution, a regulatory report, arbitration, court action or a different route for fraud, privacy or payments.
For a withdrawal dispute, our separate guide explains who can actually help when a broker denies a withdrawal. If the agreement itself is unclear, use the broker agreement checklist to find the governing company, law and complaint clause.
What this route map cannot establish
A listed complaint route does not prove that a case is eligible, that OANDA acted incorrectly or that money will be recovered. External bodies apply their own rules on complainant type, product, time limit, territorial scope and the result already given by the firm.
The map also does not replace urgent action where fraud, identity theft, an unauthorised payment or a court deadline may be involved. Those situations can require a bank, card provider, police, cybercrime service, privacy authority or qualified lawyer in addition to the broker complaint process.
