A Canadian resident and a UK resident can both type XTB into a browser, see the same brand and still be directed toward different legal routes. The surprising part is the Canadian route: XTB’s current country page says Canadian residents are accepted only by its French branch. The same page says its international company is not open to the whole world. From March 2026, it accepts residents of just 16 named countries.
Those two details are easy to miss in a generic broker review. They matter because the company named in the account agreement, not the logo, determines which regulator record and complaint procedure belong in your evidence file.
Short answer: XTB publicly directs UK residents to XTB UK, EU residents to XTB Cyprus, MENA residents to XTB MENA and residents of 16 listed countries to XTB International. It separately directs Canadian residents to XTB’s French branch. Treat that map as a starting point. Your completed application and client agreement must confirm the exact company.
We checked the broker pages and official regulator records below on 2 September 2026. Eligibility and document versions can change, so repeat the checks before opening or funding an account.

Start with residence, but do not finish there
XTB’s country page says applicants must provide their country of residence during registration. That makes residence the first useful filter. Nationality, the language selected on the website and the domain reached through a search result are not substitutes for that field.
The same page gives broad directions: UK residents to the UK site, EU residents to Cyprus and MENA residents to XTB MENA Limited. But a broad direction is not a contract. Regional branches, local permissions, product availability and the onboarding route can add another layer.
UK route: one reference appears in two independent places
XTB’s UK legal information identifies XTB Limited, company number 07227848, as authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under firm reference number 522157. The FCA’s official clone warning for XTB Group separately names the genuine authorised firm as XTB Limited, FRN 522157, and links the official XTB website.
The clone warning is useful for more than fraud awareness. It demonstrates why copying a licence number from a broker page is not enough. A clone can reuse a genuine firm’s number. The company name, website and contact details should be checked together, then compared with the agreement offered to you.
Cyprus route: the approved domain adds another match
XTB’s Cyprus legal page identifies XTB Limited with Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission licence 169/12. CySEC’s own register adds company registration number 296794 and lists www.xtb.com/cy as the approved domain.
That approved-domain field is a valuable checkpoint. It connects a regulated company to a web address recorded by the regulator. It still does not prove that every EU resident, every product or every XTB webpage leads to that company. The final agreement remains the account-level evidence.
Why “EU means Cyprus” is not the whole story
The global help page sends EU residents toward XTB Cyprus. XTB’s French legal page, however, describes XTB S.A. Succursale francaise, the Paris branch of Polish investment firm XTB S.A. It gives RCS Paris number 522 758 689 and branch reference 11533 LS, with Polish KNF supervision and French AMF and ACPR context.
This is not necessarily a contradiction. A global help page can summarise a common route while a local branch page describes a country-specific arrangement. It does mean a researcher should not turn one summary sentence into a universal rule. If you reside in France, or a route sends you to the French branch, check the French documents and the company shown during onboarding.
The Canada exception most summaries leave out
XTB’s global country page states that Canadian residents are accepted only by the French branch of XTB Group. The French help centre repeats that direction. This is a published routing statement, not proof that every Canadian applicant, province or product will be accepted.
A Canadian resident should therefore avoid assuming that a UK, Cyprus or Belize entity applies because it appears in a review. Save the page that gave the route, complete the eligibility questions honestly and inspect the legal company in the agreement before sending funds.
International does not mean every country outside Europe
From March 2026, XTB says only residents of the following 16 countries can open an account under XTB International Limited:
- Angola
- Bermuda
- Georgia
- Macedonia
- Malaysia
- Mauritania
- Moldova
- Montenegro
- Philippines
- Saint Kitts and Nevis
- Serbia
- South Africa
- Trinidad and Tobago
- Thailand
- Vietnam
- Zambia
XTB’s international disclosure identifies XTB International Limited as a Belize company under registration 000000587, formerly 153,939, authorised by the Financial Services Commission of Belize under registration 6442514.
The list changes a common research assumption. A resident outside the UK and EU cannot simply choose the international entity. Residence must appear on the current acceptance list, and the application still has to confirm eligibility.
MENA has its own company and register record
XTB directs MENA residents to XTB MENA Limited. The Dubai Financial Services Authority’s public register lists XTB MENA Limited as a DIFC company under reference F006316. The record shows a licence date of 8 July 2021 and endorsements for retail clients and holding or controlling client assets.
Those entries help verify the company and public permission record. They do not tell you whether your country is currently accepted, which product you will receive or whether a particular complaint or loss would qualify for a remedy. Those questions require the current offer and agreement.

Five fields that should agree before you deposit
If one field does not match, stop and ask the broker to identify the contracting company in writing. A mismatch is not automatically proof of wrongdoing. It is a reason to collect better evidence before funding.
A repeatable XTB check in seven steps
- Open XTB’s current country-acceptance page and record the update date.
- Choose the route for your actual country of residence.
- Open that regional site’s legal-information page, not only its homepage.
- Copy the legal name, company number and regulatory reference.
- Search the exact company in the official regulator’s register and compare the domain and status.
- Start the application without depositing and read the company name in the proposed agreement.
- Save the agreement, register result, source URLs and check date in one evidence file.
Our free Broker Entity Lookup now includes the dated UK, Cyprus, French/Canadian and 16-country international XTB records described here. Use it to narrow the route, then verify every material field in the current agreement and official register. MENA eligibility is not inferred because the reviewed XTB page does not define a complete country list. If the question begins after a dispute, the Broker Complaint Route Finder helps organise the first complaint check for supported routes.
What this evidence cannot tell you
- It cannot guarantee that XTB will accept your application today.
- It cannot prove which company holds an existing account without the account agreement.
- It does not rate service quality, withdrawal speed or investment performance.
- Authorisation does not guarantee recovery after a dispute or firm failure.
- A published compensation limit does not prove that a client, product or loss is eligible.
- The route can change when residence, product, client classification or group structure changes.
For the wider method, read which forex brokers use different legal entities by country, then follow our legal-entity verification checklist. The FCA, CySEC and offshore comparison explains why jurisdiction-level differences should be checked separately from the brand.
The practical conclusion
Ask “Which XTB entity serves my country?” to find the first document. Ask “Which company is named in my agreement?” to find the answer that belongs in your records.
The difference is one line of legal text. It can decide which regulator record you need when the easy part of opening an account is over.
